AR Tower East

AR Tower once was the gateway to the East Slope. For once you past it, it's down-grade all the way to Altoona. Just steps beyond the tower is the offical crest of the mountain and then a train enters New Portage Tunnel and upon exitinh hits the "slide", with its 2.36% grade.
