Alto Tower

Add to Cart
ALTO Tower marks the beginning of the great climb up the East Slope of the Alleghanies out of Altoona. The Tower was originally built in 1915 by the Pennsylvania Railroad and served four different owners before the Norfolk Southern shifted control authority out of the tower and to a remote dispatcher in 2012. Fortunately, the tower still stands, and the detail that the PRR built into its structures is highlighted by a passing Norfolk Southern train on February 24, 2018.
